Tuxedo Hudson Company (Ultimately became Valley Rock Inn)

THE RESULT:
All companies launched.

Tuxedo Hudson Company morphed into ValleyRockInn.com
Art Design Carta – app / online community, business with 1000’s of users.

VALLEY ROCK INN

TACTICS:
Developed objectives, timelines, and budgets, and delegated work plans for four concurrent projects during a three-year period. Launched Tuxedo Hudson Company / Tuxedo Hudson Realty, directed a 25-person, multi-national digital iOS/Android application and web development/design team to develop two applications linked to the corporate brand; Art Design Carta, a network for interior designers with an industry-leading database, and HousePad, a household organization and message service.

Further Detail:
I worked directly with Michael Bruno, founder of 1stdibs.com (sold to venture firm); the nations leading lifestyle website for all things antique and interior design. After meeting through a mutual friend, Michael invited me to come to the New York area to create and manage the launch of four simultaneous companies:

  • Town renovation project which started as Tuxedo Hudson Company, now known as www.ValleyRockInn.com
  • Full Service Real Estate Brokerage firm www.tuxedohudsonrealty.com that grabbed 22 listings in the first 3 months of operations.
  • An online community business bringing technology and value to the antique community in an Instagram-like iOS/Android App
  • I also managed the purchase of an entire development team to launch a unique House maintenance app called HousePad that focused on integrating some leading home renovation and inventory systems.

Learn more about Valley Rock Inn below:

Valley Rock Inn, — this is a multi-acre resort featuring a 75-foot pool, a fine dining restaurant, a bike and gear shop, guest suites, and much more. When completed, Valley Rock Inn will feature four stand-alone guest houses, each with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas. It will have a multi-room hotel. There will be a massive pool. There will be massage and spa services. There already are several outdoor courtyards perfect for dining or sipping coffee and cocktails. There’s a bocce court. There’s a market stocked with local foods. There’s a full-service bike shop that offers sales, rentals, and tune-ups and that will soon be stocked with gear for hiking and camping (also available for rent and sales).

The goal of the Valley Rock Inn is not only to provide a great place for guests to spend time, but rather to serve as a springboard into the beautiful hills and mountains that surround it. One could leave the bike shop under pedal power and enter Harriman State Park within a matter of minutes. A short drive deposits the hiker, fisherman, or camper in the middle of the wilderness. And returning to finely appointed facilities after a day spent out in nature only makes the time spent away from creature comforts all the sweeter.
